Welcome to Day Dream Acres!

First let me tell you a little about us.  Our first Mastiff came into our lives about 14 years ago and I've been in love with this breed ever since.

My husband, Joe, and I had been strictly a Great Dane home before Samson (our first Mastiff).  We had lost two of our Great Dane boys within a day of each other (one of heart disease and one of bloat) we came to the decision to try another breed and Mastiffs were high on the list.  We did our research and decided on a breeder and then all we had to do was wait for the breeding that we wanted to take place.  We had to wait a year before we actually had the puppy of our dreams - Samson.

Since we still were a Great Dane home, Sam immediately took to one of our Dane girls, Smooch, and decided she was his mother.  Smooch thought it was great to finally have a puppy of her own.  Sam flourished among the other dogs and all of our farm livestock.  He followed me around while I did my chores and became my constant companion.

Mastiffs aren't the typical dog for herding cattle, but Sam and I worked out our own signals and had a great time rounding up our Highland cattle.  He also became friends with one of our donkeys, Pokey, and they would run the fence line as a game to see who could make it to the end first.

When Sam was 16 months of age, we got the notion to show him.  Like anything he did, he did it well and we discovered that Sam was a "true show dog".  He absolutely loved the attention and the more people clapped the more he would strut his stuff.  Sam introduced the dog show world to us and showed us how much fun it could be win or lose.  Sam held the position of #3 Mastiff in the Country for 2 years.  His first time at the Westminster Dog Show in New York City, he blew most of the old time Champions out of the running and it actually got down to Sam and another established Champion.   Sam received First Award of Merit that day and for us it was as good as it gets.

Before Sam came into our lives I didn't think there would ever be another breed better than a Great Dane.  My heart was forever changed, as was my life, which is now filled to overflowing with Mastiffs.

Stop "day dreaming" about these wonderful companions

and let Day Dream Acres help you attain your dream.
